Embroider
Portraits have always fascinated me, especially those from the Victorian era. I’m intrigued by what was transpiring in the minds of the women who posed for them. What drove them to sit for these portraits? Was it family obligations, social pressures, financial rewards, or perhaps other motivations? What were their life stories—did they experience luxury and comfort, or were their lives marked by adventure and hardships?
Embroidering silhouette portraits is my interpretation of “sitting pretty for a portrait.” By adding modern elements, like the silhouette of a mouse cursor, I blend historical inspiration with contemporary motifs. This approach brings a unique twist to traditional embroidery, making it both a personal and meaningful expression.
I also integrate my stitching art into my interior design work, enriching spaces with a touch of historical elegance and modern creativity.
